Rick Roland
Rick is a singer/songwriter (BMI), entertainer and a U.S. Navy Veteran,
from Las Angeles and lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Instruments played are piano and guitar.
Rick has a background of performances from hotels/casinos in Las Vegas for 20 years to tv, co-hosting the Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethons Las Vegas 1980-1983 and also co-hosting the Easter Seals Telethon 1980, and were very rewarding.
Rick was invited by tv director Selig ‘Pinky’ Frank, (‘One Day At A Time’),
to perform at the MS Southern California Chapter Show, black tie, hosted by Michael Landon, at the Century City Hotel, Los Angeles, in the Los Angeles Room. Rick sang throughout the show and was backed by the Peter Matz Orchestra, (Carol Burnett Show, and Peter produced Barbra Streisand for her famous ‘Broadway Album’.
Jerry Lee Lewis said to Rick, when they met, “Son, with a voice like yours you’re gonna make a million bucks”! (Still working on that one)
Rick was invited to middle Tennessee, by Nashville radio personalities, and soon after was signed by Major Bob Doyle of A.S.C.A.P., as an upcoming singer/songwriter 1983. Bob saw something unique in Ricks’ sound and songwriting. Major Bob has been managing Garth Brooks since the beginning 1986 to the present day.
Irby Mandrell, (Barbara Mandrell’s father), managed Rick and had Rick record with Barbara’s producer Tom Collins, and they were looking for a couple more demo songs to take to the major labels, when Barbara was in a terrible car accident.
Rick sang our National Anthem for the San Diego Padres for 3 years of spring training games Yuma, Arizona
1987-1989.

‘LET IT FLY’, written and recorded by Rick, performed at the 25th Annual ‘Reefs Across America’, at the Boulder City VA Cemetery 2016.
‘LET IT FLY’ was adopted by the United States Air Force, Nellis Air Force Base, for their amazing ‘70th Anniversary Celebration Weekend’.
In addition, Rick had the honor of singing our National Anthem, and was broadcast to 180 countries worldwide on Air Force TV 2017!
